Grand Slam of Darts 2025: Where, When and Who!
The Grand Slam of Darts has arrived! From November 8 – 16, all eyes will be on the WV Active in Wolverhampton for another wonderful week of arrows.
Scroll down for a look at the history of this famous competition and the stuff you really wanna know – DartsTips.com’s expert predictions and Grand Slam of Darts picks.
What is the Grand Slam of Darts?
The Grand Slam of Darts was introduced in 2007 and is one of the most unique events in the calendar, with the tournament beginning with eight groups of four players.
The eight seeds are separated (scroll down to see it in full!) and are joined by an array of stars, including 2022 champ Michael Smith, Women’s Series Winner Beau Greaves, and Gian van Veen – fresh off winning his first major last month.
After the round-robin groups are complete, it’s a knockout all the way and our winner will eventually be crowned!
History of the Grand Slam of Darts
Grand Slam of Darts: The Early Years
The inaugural Grand Slam of Darts took place in Wolverhampton in 2007, where it’s remained ever since – aside from a one-year hiatus in nearby Coventry.
Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor dominated in the early years, winning the first three editions and six of the first eight. The torch was then passed on to Michael van Gerwen, the Dutchman three-peating in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
Gerwyn Price couldn’t follow suit with three in a row, but he did follow up his 2018 and 2019 titles with a third success in 2021. Jose De Sousa was a shock winner in 2020, which just goes to show the unpredictability of the sport.
Will we see another surprise this time around? Or will we see one of the usual faces – Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, we’re lookin’ at you – come out on top?

Some clear favourites and in-form players, who can come out on top with little explanation needed. But in case you’re wondering about a couple of those longshots…
Group B
With a group containing eighth seed Chris Dobey and Damon Heta – not the most consistent pair – the price on Martin Lukeman to come out on top seems generous. A semi-finalist here 12 months ago, Lukeman has every chance here.
Group D
“Rapid” Ricky Evans is named exactly that for a reason, and if he hits his stride early in these first-to-five group matches, he could have the points in the bag before his opponent has even warmed up.
Gerwyn Price and James Wade are formidable opponents, but can lose their cool if not allowed to settle. Odds of 12/1 with Ladbrokes/Coral* are BIG!
Outright Winners
Luke Littler is understandably the bookies’ favourite but we’re siding with the World Number 1 at the prices. Littler is almost guaranteed to face a formidable opponent in Round 2, whereas Luke Humphries could enjoy a more favourable path to the final.
At a longer price, Danny Noppert is our pick. The Dutchman recently reached the last four of the World Grand Prix and European Championship, and there’s no reason why he can’t build on that form and go one step further.
The bottom half of the draw is tough, but someone has to make it. Noppert could be that guy!
- Luke Humphries to win the Grand Slam of Darts @ 6.00 (Betway, Ladbrokes/Coral)
- Danny Noppert to win the Grand Slam of Darts @ 29.00 Each-Way (10Bet)
